Default RedHat9 - TV out and CRT on the same time

Hi,

my RedHat-System is running as a gateway for the internal network i have. but for this alone the amount of the system is too high and so i search a way to give stats of my systems over the tv and want to watch movies etc.

i had configured my xf86config so that i have tv-out on console 8 and crt on console 7 but i can't use both at the same time. also with twinview i have not the results i wich. i can drop some windows on the right so that they are visible on tv but when i have more windows open then the new windows will be automaticly on the space for tv.

so my question is:

is it possible to have a tvout wich is indepentend from the crt and runs on the same time as the view is on crt?

hi keneda,

below you can find my xf86config for twinview enabled.

i've just tried to insert a second screen and a second monitor for my tv but when i start x the server kills with an error that no screens are found or only the tv is activated and anything runs then over this.

thats the problem. with xinerame exist the possibility to have a big desktop and is the same like twinview from nvidia.

but i need to have a desktop on my crt and an other desktop on tv.
so you can say i need two x session. but the only way i found out is to have two desk where only the activ desk is shown and the other one is blank. (switching console7 and console8)

on mandrake 9.1 and SuSE 8.2

when i started for first time KDE, i got 2 xsessions with 2 different desktop.

i found in /home/keneda

2 folders : /home/keneda/Desktop
/home/keneda/Desktop1

i think y must get the same thing with redhat9.

but u got tvout for second display, so u must use twinview with xinerama off

to get 2 different desktop
