Default 4363 driver doesn't compile on 2.4.21 kernel (SuSE 8.2)

Just upgraded kernel on my SuSE 8.2 system to 2.4.21. All NV drivers/rpms were uninstalled and I tried to install the 4363 driver - as per the SuSE instructions.
It decided there was no precompiled kernel module available and tried to compile it's own (quite impressed with how nicely everything worked so far)... then it died with:
nv.c:2091: error: `vmalloc_reserve' undeclared (first use in this function)
nv.c:2091: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
nv.c:2091: error: for each function it appears in.)

The full log file is attached.
Has anyone had success with an installation that needed a compile?
Any input appreciated

Same here. What gives? NVIDIA has been great for making stable easily configurable drivers and now this. Please fix soon!

I have no probs with that whatsoever. Have you placed the kernel-sources in /usr/src/linux and have you run "make dep" there ?

I'm sorry I don't have much experience with your distribution. About all I can suggest is looking for a kernel-headers package.

The safest route, if you're content with compiling your own kernel, is to download vanilla sources from www.kernel.org and compiling rather than using trying to use an RPM package.

If you are using 2.4.21-4 there is possible fix. Download stand alone NVIDIA_kernel from ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Li....0-4363.tar.gz
extract it, then apply current patch:
