Yeah flamethrower sucks ass too. It more likely to get you killed than anything. However, the shotgun isnt bad for close encounters, and the two other weapons, smartgun and sniper rifle, are overpowered as hell lol. Sniper rifle one shots things as long as you can aim worth a crap, and the smartgun is like a minigun with auto-aim, if its on your screen, its toast. Sadly, the smartgun has only showed up once for me, and had ammo for all of about 5 min of playing...

This game looks awesome, I'm really liking it now. I turned off Steam Community Ingame and the stuttering has gone.

I also grabbed the 10.2s and the profile thingy....not sure what made the difference but the game runs fine now.

Yeah I played a bit this morning. Running DX 11 and no stuttering, but I read Velvet's post about the audio log so I didn't listen to any of them. Only got to the Disco. Just installed the new drivers. Gonna give it another go. Game is pretty freaky.

This is probably one of only a few games where no AA isn't bothering me.

That said, you CAN force AA, it is just very resource heavy.
I gots one of them high powered gaming computers with an EVGA GTX 480 video thingy and a Q9550 processing device and also one of them Windows 7 64 operating programs with 4GB of some Corsair 1033 DDR2 ram.

It's a pretty dark game so aliasing should be less of an issue compared to most other games.

I remember playing the original on my first (brand new, not hand me down) computer when I was just starting high school . . playing this brings back memories.

Starting out with the predator campaign . . all I have to say is they nailed the predator feel. The finisher kills are especially gruesome. Really have to use stealth and all the tools they give you to succeed. Loving the game so far.

its surprisingly good

i thought it would be porly done as an Alien quadology fan myself

playing as the marine IS tense and scary, with some great level design and the way they have animated the aliens with plenty of details is pretty spot on imho, i like the way they have the aliens dodge bullets like the alien did in ressurection

the audio logs are good too with bishop referencing Ripley at one point

talking of audio, the sound effects are some of the best i have heard with great surround effects and the music is very eerie and sounds like Horners Aliens music

with wish there were more save slots though!
