Default Windows Vista freeing-up space on my HDD on its own?

I formatted my computer about 10 days ago and haven't turned it off since. I noticed that on the 6th day, my computer had 5GB extra on the HDD and yesterday another 1GB. What is happening here? I have System Restore disabled.
