Just placed my steam pre-order, I'm downloading the beta now for a little fun.

There are no servers up for the beta though.

Yeah your right No EA severs, Oh well wait for tommorrow, Didn't take but about 5 minutes two download the beta with my 20 meg cable service.

It's official, no Steam preload. STEAM = FAIL. Why would you NOT preload this kind of game?

It looks like the game unlocks/starts downloads at 3PM CST tomorrow.

Yeah I went the stingingvelvet's way in this one and preordered through a retail store.

I'm waiting for a text message which will inform me that it has arrived and ready to be picked up.

And we get a cool bf:bc2 tshirt to boot!

No preload for a game of this magnitude is weird. But as long as it doesn't bog down the servers too much it shouldn't be too big of a deal.

If you play online and register your key it has no disc check, so the difference from Steam will be minimal.

Plus even with a preload it will not be unlocked until far later than stores open.

WHY are people talking about no preload being weird? Steam never freaking does preloads!
