Steam will release or unlock the game noon CST time. The Steam store page says 5 hours left! w00t.

I should be home pretty early today so I'm pretty stoked about playing.

Amazon release day shipping is awesome, I get the stuff right after lunch directly at my door. Awesome.

For people asking about the FOV www.widescreengamingforum.com has an FOV calculator you can use to figure out the suggested FOV for your monitor. Note that FOV is not an exact science though, playing with it and seeing what fits for you is just as good as anything else.

Right on, 80 should be fine. It's sorta dependent on how far you sit from your monitor.

Just played a bit of the single player campaign, and its been great so far. Although that console FOV is ****ing annoying. But the sound is ****ing awesome.

I added FOV and HBAO info to the Tips section in the OP, as well as a new intro paragraph.

For people asking about the FOV www.widescreengamingforum.com has an FOV calculator

Nice, thanks NZ

34.99 on Steam in UK. I wonder will this capture the spirit of the original Battlefield was it 1942, with that early demo at the island airstrip where no one knew what was going on. Blunder Patrol

Thanks! But the FOV reverts back to 55 whenever those ingame cutscenes play! What gives? Setting the ini to read only doesnt help either.

Guys, when you create your soldiers (and if this is your favorite online community), do you think you could add a "-NVN" to the end of your name? It's not a clan tag but it'll do.

Furthermore if you're looking for a group or clan, consider joining the one I'm in, it's for casual gamers, has its own servers and is specifically for BC2. It's called "DoA" and it almost just more of a group than a clan, with no real rigid schedules... it kinda goes by the "life first, then gaming" mantra. Site is at http://www.bc2doa.com/ ... and at the very least, stop by our serve (search for DoA in the server browser). It's a work in progress but it'll be a great place to come back to.

Yea, might end up with two copies I guess... but I'm already playing it. The copy from EA Store didnt bother me at all about unlocking. Ran it right after I installed it.

EDIT - Argh, the MP still blows. Guy was coming up the stairs. Full clip into his head point blank. Nothing, then I get shot with 1 or 2 bullets and died. C'mon DICE this is crap. The SP is amazing but the MP is just crap still.
