Play Now sometimes finds a session after 5min of searching but it's a ping 200-300 server where you can't even kill an enemy with a tank.

Right now I can't even log in to EA's servers
Yeah I can't connect either. Sucks, I really want to play this game

This game launch will live in infamy.

Everyone owns it, everyone wants to play it, and everyone wants it to succeed.

And yet it is epic failure, day after day.

Almost a week after launch and I still can't login 99% of the time. This is the worst game launch I have ever witnessed. I don't understand why EA is using commodore 64s for master servers, but apparently that is what they are doing.

I bought the game two days ago and had no problems logging on or playing on the first day. But yesterday, I too started to get the PB INIT kick. Now, I have not read all 15 pages of this thread, but here's what I did. First I tried the Punkbuster manual update... didn't do crap. Then, I removed that update, and went to my disc. I ran the Punkbuster install/test-dealy in the PB folder on the BFBC2 disc and VOILA! No more PB kicks. Go figure. Of course, when I get on later tonight, it might start all over again... WHO KNOWS! Now, that being said, I do still have some trouble connecting to some servers, but all in all, I have been able to get in and play quite a bit.

Interesting, so you deleted the pb info in the Battlefield folder, and reinstalled it from the CD?

The later levels with massive open areas are pretty cool.

It starts slow though.

I've just about had it with this game. I've been wanting to play so much but I CAN'T F***ING CONNECT TO A DAMN SERVER!!!!! I can't even get a server list!!!!

I'm at the edge of saying that I regret buying this game and not getting CoD:MW2. Too bad Steam won't do refunds for this garbage or else I'd pay the extra $10 to get MW2. What a load of BS.

Hell, the beta worked out better than the release did. And what's even funnier, everyone believed that this would "show IW how to properly make a game". Heck, I believed it. Turns out MW2 works way better than BC2.

I guess I'm just going to have to stop playing this for a few months. Maybe then, some of the connection issues will be gone.

It's really odd so many of you can NEVER get a game while some of us can almost ALWAYS get a game.

What is the difference?

Did all of you go straight from modem to PC?

Lots of problems here as well. Server browser doesn't work for me at all. Servers either load in the list with no pings or 999 pings, and when I do get a refresh with actual pings, I can't join any. When I just use the play now option to randomly select a server, my pings are always 200+.

Also, I get an occasional flickering to a black screen randomly during online gameplay. It doesn't occur for me during single player. Anyone else getting this? It occurs for me in both SLI and single card mode on my NVIDIA machine.

YES, I get the black flickering as well. I thought of using it as an excuse to buy a new monitor, but thanks a lot
