Default GT210 hdmi no audio in ubuntu 9.10

Hi Nvidia developers,
I have been trying for several days to get HDMI audio working on my GT210 card. This is the video card I have, PNY GeForce 210 512MB DDR2 PCIe 2.0 x16 Graphics Card.

The video works very well however never got the audio working.

I have tried the alsa patches and /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf changes as suggested in this thread but don't help.

Appreciate if you can provide guidance - do I need the alsa nvidia patches discussed in this thread? Can you provide a working sound.conf.

It is unclear if anyone has been able to use the patches to successfully get hdmi audio working on GT210, some have reported success on the GT240 so far. Is it expected to work.

Iam using 190.53 Nvidia driver currently.

Try this.

If that doesn't work, pick up the existing nV News thread here or existing XBMC Forums thread here. The GT220 uses the same HD audio setup as the G210, so that thread's the right place to discuss.
