Really because the one forum I know they hang out in has tons of people complaining about issues caused by the DRM from not being able to complete missions to missions not being available.

I didn't want to put this in the official ACII thread, nor do I condone pirating software. However, I feel all lazy, ineffective and legit owner gimping DRM schemes need to fail. therefore, I got a good chuckle after reading the following article (specifically Ubisoft's retort):

a nice big F U to ubisoft.... wonder how much money they dumped into this system.

It's still only talking about Silent Hunter 5, which had less protection.

Anyone know for sure there is a 100% working AC2 crack? As in you can play and save the entire game with no issues?

Do we really need to discuss piracy on this forum? Who cares if it is cracked, only low-life scumbags would use it anyway.

We can discuss as in the impact on the state of the industry. I didn't mean to ask if anyone has pirated it, I just meant has anyone seen confirmation.

Yeah, that works out real well.

Also: Assassin's Creed 2 not hacked: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010...ked-after-all/

Seems it downloads mission files as you play, just quick files which trigger missions to appear. Pirates are not able to do much but run around the start area.

K guys. I'll give the answer that will end this thread. Harsh DRM is ok, but it should be patched out 1-2 years after the games release. There, everyone happy. I'll let Ubisoft know I've made my decision.

Velvet take an email.

6 months tops. When the price starts dropping the DRM should go too.

I fully agree really... effective DRM than can stop some piracy, patched out within a year. No one should complain about that (though some will of course).
