Default [bug report] severe graphical corruption after resume from suspend w 195.36.03

After upgrading to Ubuntu Lucid Alpha 3 which ships the 195.36.03 driver I am getting severe graphical corruption after resuming from suspend which used to work perfectly under Ubuntu Karmic which used the 190.42 drivers IIRC - my machine is a MacBook Pro 5,1 which is using the 9600M GT GPU.

There have been a couple of similar reports upstream at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/510004

Attached is contents from nvidia-bug-report.sh as well as a screenshot showing the corruption - notice the large white blocks behind docky, and around the terminal window and the weird 'snow'.

The following was also observed in dmesg after resume from suspend:

Code:

Default Re: [bug report] severe graphical corruption after resume from suspend w 195.36.03

As another data-point (as noted in the upstream bug report) 190.53 also fails similarly with almost identical NVRM output in dmesg:

Code:
NVRM: Xid (0002:00): 13, 0001 00000000 00005097 00000538 3f800000 00000080
NVRM: Xid (0002:00): 65, CMDre 00000000 00000080 00000000 00000005 00000005
NVRM: Xid (0002:00): 65, CMDre 00000000 00000080 00000000 00000005 00000005
NVRM: Xid (0002:00): 65, CMDre 00000000 00000080 00000000 00000005 00000005
NVRM: Xid (0002:00): 65, CMDre 00000000 00000080 00000000 00000005 00000005
NVRM: Xid (0002:00): 65, CMDre 00000000 00000080 00000000 00000005 00000005
NVRM: Xid (0002:00): 65, CMDre 00000000 00000080 00000000 00000005 00000008
