I know....but I am still enjoying [shameless plug] Battlefield: Bad Company 2[/shameless plug] a lot. Maybe I'll get it once I'm done enjoying [shameless plug] Battlefield: Bad Company 2[/shameless plug].

Why the hell can't you change the graphics settings independently? I want to turn down the volumetric lights, because I'm sure they're causing major slowdowns. But no, if I wanna turn them off, I'll get rid of high quality textures etc, too

Apparently there is a widescreen problem with this game. Is it related to the weird FOV? Luckily the devs know acknowledge it and are working on it:

EDIT: (more on the problem: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=1190968)

Hope to see more games utilizing this engine in the future.

PS. It seems to me that "Darkest Of Days" may have used this technology albeit on a lesser scale. The two games share some of the same aesthetic values for me. Ah well...hope you guys are enjoying it.
Second play through? How many hours did you get out of the first play through?

No tweaks, 1680x1050, install defaulted to DX9 high. Even with fps in the 20s at times the game play is incredibly smooth. gfx is a 4870 512, images resized to 1280x1024

Liking it so far.

Is the DX11 and tesselation implementation in this game broken or something?
http://www.overclock.net/pc-games/69...hout-2.html#20

Lets hope for a patch (and perhaps an explaination) when Fermi gets launched at the latest - preferably before that for us with ATI DX11 cards!

EDIT: Other reports on tesselation seems a little less negative: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...473&page=2&#18
Can't wait for someone to do thorough testing of it, and playing around with it myself also!

I'm so glad this game has been well received. It's great to see some different games doing well. Not necessary different in terms of gameplay (though it's that too), but different because it's not America-centric and it's not made by one of the giants of the industry. ie, the opposite of MW2.

So far this game takes the atmosphere in any part of STALKER and ratchets it through the roof.

It's as foreboding a game as I've played yet.

Interaction between npcs is flawless so far, life around you in the tunnels is vibrant, and the combination of color, light and shadow is perfect for the mood they seemed to shoot for.

Happy camper here.

Very High settings, AAA enabled, but no DX11 effects. 25-45 fps dempending on how much is going on in the scene.
