RE: Earlier inquiry on play through: It took me around 7.5 hours to complete. This was on easy. I will typically play a game through all difficulty settings to try and get a different experience from it.

RE: The 9800 GTX performance, yeah I am surprised too...it seems that the "normal" setting is what you get when you play the console version ie, XBox 360...it looks and plays great 30-60 frames per second depending on the nature of whats going on. Make no mistake however, when you turn this application way up there, it is just breathtaking to behold. In my opinion, it destroys Crysis.

Thumbs up Re: Official Metro 2033 Feedback Thread

What an amazing game on chapter 4 now, can't seem to let go of it.

This game has great atmosphere just like S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Anyone else notice that if you check your watch with the shotgun equipped (the semi-auto one you get after the double barrelled shotgun), the entire screen blurs out (including the watch), like some depth of field effect gone haywire?

Might stop playing this for now... can't keep 30+fps in the outside levels, which makes them a pain to play. Even on low settings it dips to the 20s, making me seriously wonder how much BS the min requirements are at a dual core and 8800.

Detail seems higher with it on, I think I'll try this. "0" is off? Thanks.

@NZ - That's pretty much the fps I had outside too and it played incredibly smooth in DX9 & 10. Do you have something forced via NVCP that might be killing it on you?

EDIT: E8500 @ 3.8 and HD 4870 @ stock speeds.

Not sure about the performance, yeah it looks nice, mostly because of all the light blur, smoke, light stream effects I guess. Widescreen does seem to have a pretty small FOV though. weapons look good, interface is mostly ok I guess.

I had to remove my 360 controller though, the game defaults to thinking I want to use it. How do I disable it in game but not have to unplug it?

I think GI enabled is 0.
If GI stands for global illumination leaving it on will have a great impact on performance but also on the game visuals, because it supposedly is responsible for the fancy illumination system that Metro have.

Honestly although i like the volumetric smoke and all the particles in the air, the light/shadow system is a let down, at least until now in the game.

Oh another thing i hate are the mask. Why create a good looking game and then use a stupid mask that prevents you from enjoying it at is fullest....
Oh well
