I would like to get Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, but I'm confused as Steam also offers the Colonies Edition, by the screenshots looks like a multiplayer version of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, although it specifies:
I want to enjoy the game, single-player-wise, so... which version should I buy? The 'normal' version is listed as 20€ while the Colonies version is listed as 14.99€, if it was about price, I'd go Colonies, but I'm confused, I don't want to end buying something that's intended to be played online, as I just want to enjoy the single player experience.. Any hint? Julio |

There's not much difference between the two, except the additional SP modes, and that there are apparently more people playing Colonies online. I found some people to play Extreme Condition online with.... once, back like 2 years ago... but since then I can't find squat.
Either way you go, great game. Still has a LOT of replay value to me.

So the Colonies version also contains the 'original' version, too?

The Colonies edition contains the entire original game, yes.
The singleplayer add-on stuff is lame, just like a points scoring mode and some minor stuff. Only get Colonies if you plan to multiplayer game, which honestly is not the main appeal of the game in my experience.

The little bit of online MP that I played in the original was a heck of a lot of fun though.
