He's probably referring to pre-launch pirating wherein Steam games can be downloaded ahead of time, but they are encrypted and only unlock when they're allowed to be unlocked. Physical media that isn't encrypted walks away from production plants, or other places where they're stamped and end up in the hands of pirates to have cracked before release.

at least that's what I assume he's talking about.

Just curious, can you sell this game if you bought it off of steam?
I have it on the ps3, kinda don't want it on the pc anymore.

what copy protection does mw2 use?? It can't be that good since the pirated version can be played on IWNET..:/

Honestly I don't consider Steamworks any better than Ubi's DRM. I know, I know, OFFLINE MODE DUDE! But I am never offline and have not had any server problems, so I couldn't care less.

The thing I have against both is the principle of account-based gaming, and Steam and Ubi are equal in that regard, so I dislike both.

My question is why was it there in the first place? haven't we had enough Steam games that removed securom. Or the ****ing heap of **** boredlands that added securom in a patch.
