I finished this tonight, it was alright.. Graphics looked weird to me, pixelated and muddy at times, couldn't figure out anything to fix it. The action was pretty repetitive, more than I remember the other FEAR games being..

Fight a blue guy, fight another blue guy, fight a big blue guy, fight two big blue guys, fight two big blue guys and a powered suit. The only unique boss fight was the big guy at the end and that reminded me of ME2 and Dead Space. Unless you count one of those helicopter battles..

Overall I thought the best action/atmosphere was in the shopping mall or grocery store or whatever, and that pales in comparison to things like the underground facility in the first game.

I had a ton of problems with the difficulty, even non-boss fights were incredibly tough at times. I'm sure I had to reload checkpoints far more in this than anything else that came before. I'd attempt some sections 4-6 times, take a 30 minute break, then come back to it and finally pass the area.

The story was alright but some things didn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Spent half the game trying to get to Beckett only to have Fettel waste him after 30 seconds. Jin was all "we have to get to him to stop this!". How was he going to stop it? The guy was out of his mind. Maybe I missed something, but that seemed like a huge waste of time that couldn't have possibly amounted to anything useful to begin with.

I also didn't understand, or really even care as to why we were going after Jin. I guess it was nice to hear a familiar voice every once in a while, but just like every other FEAR game it's not long before you get separated from your friendlies once you pick one up... Saw that coming a mile a way.

I thought the ending was a bit abrupt.

When the big guy came along I figured I had another stage or two at least, but it just jumped right through a whole bunch of cut scenes and that was it.

I would have liked at least one more area of the compound to explore following the last battle. Even if there were absolutely no enemies whatsoever, just to wander around and maybe get those ghostly apparition type of scenes that give some additional background on Alma, her experiences, some more conversations, etc. Then you make your way into the birthing room and away it goes.

The first game is still my favorite by a mile, but this was ok.

Playing this now, it's pretty decent so far. Typical 2 weapon FPS with autosave checkpoints.

Crap ending like usual a lame cutscene and thats it. Action was alright but i prefer fear 2 then it was better and a little more scary too i loved the school level.

Not as good as either of them.

Seems more like the second, though.

More like the second, but the worst of all the FEAR games imo. I really miss the old feeling and atmosphere of the first game. At least FEAR 2 managed to capture some of it.

I just bought it from the D2D 40%% off sale. Steam download speeds are really sweet nowdays (around 6 MB/s)

I donīt have super high expectations for the game itself but atleast i hope itīs really hard on the most difficult mode.

I just got done playing this pile of *****. I couldn't stand more than 10 minutes of it. Very boring and generic, at least in my opinion. Like most games nowadays the FOV is messed up, but you can change it.

What's with the recent trend of games looking really muddy and dull? Almost looks like it does if you play in a non native resolution on a LCD. Crysis 2 and DNF were like that as well.

Fear 3 will probably win some kind of award for lowest texture resolution in a game from 2000 and forward. It looks so bad itīs almost distracting.

This is an example of devs making a game purely for the money and not in order to make a good game. All they had to do was make "something", and people would buy simply because it's "fear". It's not like Crysis 2 where the devlopers take pride in creating another masterpiece. After seeing the second fear I knew the 3rd would be even worse.
