They only way to get a better assault rifle is to stick it out with the POS you have now (don't worry, the XM8 is a much better gun). Playing as another class doesn't get you a better assault rifle. Leveling up (changing rank) gets you shotguns and other perks.

I'm game! Name is Elvin Presler in game too.

Any team. Will try to level and skill up a bit so I can be of more use with the unlocks in the meantime.

Edit: Oh, just a thought. Might want to distribute that password via PM here or something so we don't get griefed by NVNews lurkers (disgruntled, banned people for example).

Has anyone here used the in-game VoIP at all? I still plan on hopping in vent, but using the in-game VoIP for squad chat would be extremely useful.

I heard a guy using it once but that's it. He came running down the stairs and said something (loud and garbled) about upstairs. So I looked up the stairwell to toss a grenade up and got one shotted all in the face! Maybe he said "DO NOT look upstairs!"
