Default Screen glitching/corruption with driver 195.36.15

After updating my drivers to 195.36.15, I've been experiencing the following:

- screen goes black for 1-2 seconds, then recovers
- screen flashes green blocks for 1-2 seconds, then recovers
- screen has blocking/corruption for 1-2 seconds, then recovers

At no time does the system become unresponsive, crash, etc. Aside of the display being temporarily lamed, all is well. The above events occur randomly, and either alone or in combination with each other.

Some system info:

debian testing
kernel 2.6.33.1 (stable)
x.org 1:7.5+5
nvidia driver 195.36.15 (32bit)
libvdpau1 0.4-3
libvdpau-dev 0.4-3

2GB ram
PNY VCGGT2201XEB-S GeForce GT220 1GB 128-bit DDR2 PCIE 2.0 x16
