Well I held off for all of 10 hours... just pre-ordered a pair of EVGA 470's.

But that won't stop me or others from considering purchasing them.
Gotcha. I didn't see this Crysis bench here. All I saw was the furmark test.

In that case, you're right. There's not much of a difference between it and previous gen cards there.

Man, where is everybody pre-ordering these? I can only find sites with auto-notification for when they do come in stock.

My opinion of the GTX 480 is that I bought two 5870s to replace my two GTX 285s.

Seriously, I did. I read the reviews and saw what nVidia had to offer and then ended up buying two 5870s from Micro Center.

They better update those specs though. 512SPs for the 480?

That's fair enough. They are fantastic cards and i'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Seriously considering putting in an order for two EVGA GTX 480s. I would still be able to register for the lifetime warranty if I ordered from these guys right?

It would still be nice if they where around the 5 series temps. They are extremely impressive.

Yeah but the 4870x2 has two chips and two heatsinks to spread the load across, and it higher TDP than the 480, but the same temps. Not to mention, I have one still, the fan on it is loud as HELL.
