Why would you do that? Overvolting would be more like it.

Because the temperature drops a lot at stock clocks then.

Doubt nvidia would have been running these cards at higher volts than needed due to the already high TDP and heat issues.

There's always a buffer because of the spread for standard factory models. The cards can also be overclocked at stock voltages, so the GPU probably wouldn't have a problem running at lower voltages. The only question is if the VRMs allow lower voltages.

Seems ATi have a long way to go to match vN's scaling on 3 cards. They're getting better though. Normal 2 card xfire seems pretty good since the 10.x drivers arrived. Cheers for the info, broseph

I'll be sitting this one out... my 285 is currently pushing every game just fine at my monitor's resolution and my system would hold me back anyway.

I'd definitely consider a 470 or 480 if I had an i7 or more powerful system or a different monitor.... but I think my cash will be better spent with just a new monitor

Your kidding right?? Prices went up and they are not even offically released/available?? Wow. There's going to be some very pissed off fans on the green team. Careful or alot will cross over to the red team this round. Sounds like all the rumors of very limited availabilty may not be too far off??

A lot of stores still offer the 480s for 479 Euros here at this time. Sure the prices scale up to 600+ Euros for different versions and stores but thats always like that.

Since it will be a 360 port I actually dont think it will be all that more demanding than TDU1. Either way it will be kind of a long wait (for the game and the two weeks for the 480).

Same story here in france, my 5850 is doing fine @ 1920*1080 w/fsaa etc, so I wont be upgrading at this time, this is my very first ATi card, and I am impressed. The 470 starts @ 350, which is about 100 more than I paid for my 5850 at release!
