I hardly post here and you keep attacking me for no reason, why the heck you need to turn things personal. If you have problem with my post please point it out and talk about the subject.

I sure didn't post in this thread anything negative about NVIDIA (go search please) and didn't even give my opinion about the product.

Actually I said few times buy whatever you prefer be happy and enjoy, in other threads. So what heck is your problem?

Plus I was talking to Toss3 and everything was cleared out. Nothing in my post was about NVIDIA so why you need to bring ATI vs NVIDIA in the subject.

I'm so buzzing now with these cards finally coming to market. Cannot wait to get my grubby little mitts on a pair of these.

2x GTX480's = Totally Awesome.

Currency conversion (not much these days), import tax, gst.

Prices still aren't what they should be, I got a damn 4870x2 for $650 in 2008, that's the first time I've ever bought top of the line and is $100 less than the most I've ever spent on a GPU ($750 - Gainward 6800GT at Ultra speeds).

Like 5970 did, prices for GTX 480 and possibly 470 will go up if supply is low. 5970 prices have dropped around $100 over here in the last 2 weeks at least.

You guys don't have anything better to do with your time than to argue over ATI v NV?

Glee???....Listen,i made my decision based on the facts at hand when i bought a pair of HD5970's,basically there were available and are umbelievably fast performers and support DX11,and there was still no news on when exactly fermi based cards would be released.

If the time lapse between the HD5970 and the release of fermi was much shorter,i'd still resist the temptation of buying the HD5970 cards and wait for comparative results between both cards, even more so because Fermi is a brand new architecture, but when there's a near 5 month gap since i've onwed the HD5970 cards.....Patience only goes so far in waiting for a product release.

And in the end,as it turns out,it looks like i made the right call as my setup delivers more performance for less money, using less power or worrying about heat or noise issues,as to get similar results from Fermi, compared to what i get now, you'd need at least 3 of them in triple SLI....Do the math on the cost issues alone.

Ncix lists GTX 480 cards at 530 to 550$ on pre order, which is where i got my cards as well,so that's about 1650$.....I payed 1400$ for my pair of HD5970 cards 5 months ago.

Here's my 3D mark score at the extreme settings....

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=1704729

Given what we've seen with the GTX480 cards, you'd need 3 of them to be able to match that score, and my cards are running stock btw,as my CPU at 4 Ghz is holding things back anyhow.

Some one pointed out that most users are manually setting their fans at or around 100 % to keep the temp down. Most users say the fan are not as loud as every one are saying there are.

Except even the Software maker says it's a bug.

Are you always this much of a tool?

ATi has some great cards, I admit. You have issues admitting NV does?

Edit: Oh, I never said ATi cheated. I took exception to people looking at one place and assuming the Fermi was the problem when even the maker of Metro says it's THEIR bug. Not Fermi's. Is ATi cheating? I have no idea. Do I care? Not really. They make some fine cards (even if I won't buy them. That's only a personal 'issue' with ATi, nothing else.)
