and according to the user on evga forum, 100% fan on fermi, is same noise as 100% on GTX 280

high temps on Fermi are not because of bad design, but really low fan speeds

Are you always this much of a tool?

ATi has some great cards, I admit. You have issues admitting NV does?

Edit: Oh, I never said ATi cheated. I took exception to people looking at one place and assuming the Fermi was the problem when even the maker of Metro says it's THEIR bug. Not Fermi's. Is ATi cheating? I have no idea. Do I care? Not really. They make some fine cards (even if I won't buy them. That's only a personal 'issue' with ATi, nothing else.)
him? yes

Just saw on Evga forum were the fans on the Fermi are smaller compaired to the 200 series, on the Evga forum a user took pictures compairing the fans. Wonder why Nvidia used smaller fans on the Fermi?

They might be better quality fans than the ones on the 200 series. Just taking a guess here.

Those "low fan speeds" are higher than any other card in recent memory. Also, saying a faster, higher power fan is the same as a slower fan isn't very trustworthy... Personally I trust the people who have measured it with a decible meter. Also, owning a GTX 280, I can say that the fan at 100% could generate a tornado. I manually worked the fan on it because I didn't trust the auto-fan, it would let it get too hot before doing anything. Anything over 70% was insanely loud, I could hear it through my headphones at that point. I tried to keep it about 65% for most games, Crysis and the like though you'd have to crank it to 75% to keep temps stable.

Please don't turn this into another bad thread. We are all here because we love PC hardware. Weather it be ATI or Nvidia or AMD or Intel. It's consoles who are the enemy.

I can fully agree to that....I'm tired of playing console ports,so when is a developer going to grow a pair and release a cutting edge PC exclusive title like Crytek did 2 1/2 years ago with Crysis, which made even high end hardware scream bloody murder trying to run that smoothly?

i know in aus

if the gpu is USD499, it somehow ends up as 750~ in the shelf
I quoted the prices in USD So they are selling$30 over the MSRP of $499 for the 480.

And $2 less than the MSRP of $399 for the 470

ok, I'll try to be civil.

You're trolling in an NV news site. All you're doing is pushing buttons for reaction. If *ANYONE* (and yes, Rollo deserved it too) besides Rollo deserves a ban (albeit temp), I believe you do.

Keep it together guys. We're all friends here, and we don't need another battle ending with bans and a closed thread.

It's just computer hardware guys.....

If you like ATI.... buy ATI. If you Like Nvidia.... buy Nvidia. I'll buy whatever card is in my price range and offers the best performance for the $$$.
