Your opinion on the GTX 470 & 480 - Page 5

I am extremely happy that this is NOT another Geforce FX. At least the GTX 470 and 480 seems to be doing pretty dang well in DX11. The only real loss right now is that the HD 5xxx series of cards no longer uses angle-dependant Anisotropic Filtering, while the GTX 4xx series does.

Oh well... I guess even Nvidia can't win all of them. Brute force only gets you so far in this market.

Man really wanted a single card solution to replace my GTX 260 SLi but looks like I am going to have to wait for the next series.

Yeah I think it is the other way around. But from what I have read it doesn't make a difference to game quality.

I might upgrade, I am still happy with my 2 9800GTX. I had 3 of them but one died on me a few months back, and instead of replacing it and was going to use the money to buy a 470.

Technically, Mad stated it right. Angle-independent is the superior filtering method.
