it is plugged in to main onboard sata controller? or some third party jmicron, silicon image, marvell etc...

did you plug it into the red?

Red is not native sata controller, but a Marvell sata3 controller, that would explain why it won't let you run that Intel Optimizer

Marvell sata3 controllers just like the nec usb 3.0 are not the ideal controls I won't update my board untill proper native support is implemented into the chipset.

so far only AMD added native support for SATA3 in their chipsets, Intel is being lazy.

That maybe the reason I plug it in the red connector, can I just unplug the drive and replug them in another Sata connector or will that bork my install? thx Niekro for the help.

Plus I really hope Intel will move over to SATA3 (your new board already supports that AFAIK) and improve overall performance to overtake the SandForce controllers again.

In my opinion, buying an SSD right now is not the best idea... All because of the upcoming G3s.
*wants to throw up while reading this with new SSD in hand*

only 2 native ports? gotta say that is pathetic, AMD managed to have 6 native ports in their 890 series chipsets.

Sooo, just received my SSD a couple days ago and finally got the chance to put it in a rig.

Trying out Ubuntu 10.04 with it now. So far I'm rather happy. Both with the SSD and Ubuntu.

Tomorrow I hope to put it in my main rig and do a fresh install of 7 Ultimate on it.
