My two evga GTX 480s arrived today. Got them installed and using one of my old GTX 260s for dedicated physics. Everything ran great. Then five minutes into Metro 2033 my Apevia Warlock 1100w PSU ate it hard. So now I have to wait until Monday when my Thermaltake Toughpower 1000w PSU arrives to get to use my new toys. This sucks. I'm stuck with just my Blackberry for the weekend. Oh don't buy Apevia.

Yeah, I wouldn't try that with this PSU, I was just pointing out that a more efficient lower wattage PSU can be better than a higher rated one, which is why the drop from 1100w to the 1000w Toughpower isn't a step down.

What kind of fan connector is this (the black one in the top right corner)? It's 4 pin PWM I guess but is it a standard one so you could simply replace the fan? |

The Apevia was a POS and I got it because it was cheap. It actually started to die before my 480s got here. They just finished it off. I'm sure the Thermaltake will handle it just fine. I would've ordered a 1200w Thermaltake but they're listed as out of stock on newegg and amazon. Kind of hard to shop around with just a Blackberry.

I own a Seasonic X-650 which is 80Plus Gold Rated, modular design. Wonder if it could drive 2, 470s? That would put the quality vs. quantity to the test! Supposedly my PS is very high on quality, but obviously low on quantity.
