After quite some time, I have once again defected away from my two Radeon 3870X2s and back to a single GTX 470... Good to be back

Currently displaying on an EVGA 460 GTX SC 768MB installed about an hour ago. Coming from a 9500 GT. Disturbed by the lack of overclocking support on Linux.
Option "RegistryDwords" "PerfLevelSrc=0x2222" Option "Coolbits" "5" Set PowerMizer to max performance and enable GPU fan settings. That's all we *nix guys get for now. Terribly disappointed. Was hoping to see a stable 850,2000. Instead, I see 763,1900, tops. C'mon, NVIDIA....Release a driver which supports Fermi overclocking already! The GPU fan can get loud, and I have a very loud box already (Scythe Kaze Maru 2 140mm x 2 + Scythe Ultra Kaze 140mm x 1 + Scythe Kama Flow 2 120mm x 2). Can start hearing it above my other fans starting at 60 (I have it set at 50). Nothing to hope for but an updated driver...This really takes the edge of of the purchase... |

purchased an EVGA GTX 460 1024MB about a month ago and was so impressed with the performance that I had to pick up a second one. Now running SLI for the first time and loving it!

Well finally took the plunge... I held off getting a new card(s) mainly because I was using my 8800GTs in SLI which for the most part does the job. I picked up my EVGA 480 Superclocked yesterday and so far I'm very impressed. While I did ponder the idea of going SLI again with 2 260s I have had my share of issues with SLI mainly with older titles. Also it involves a little more tinkering and I guess I wanted a break. I just want really good performance over the next couple years until we see some serious change in the GPUs. I think I did okay.
