I found hyperspace to be too busy and demanding for what its doing...
Hres a good one....very well done and optimized collection of screensavers, and it can run as animated wallpaper http://www.animated-wallpaper.com/Space-Journey-3D/ EDIT: Been running it as a desktop background for a few minutes and let it cycle through the different modes. Only uses about 5% CPU and its very smooth. I think i might buy this one |

3dplanesoft made some cool screensavers for nvidia (they are just adaptations of their currents ones with nvidia branding, but they are free)
