Maybe because the game ended up not being anything like originally thought. I never play my 360, but if this looked anywhere near as good as I thought back when it was announced years and years ago, I would have still bought it.

It's very linear, at least at the start of the game. But linear is usually necessary for a rich story, which seems to be pretty cool and told in a very intense way.
Overall it feels like Luigi's Mansion 2

Controls are meh again, but that's normal for a gamepad. I simply hate playing games like that with a pad.

Visuals are overall a letdown, lighting is pretty impressive but man it's a low res texture mess. It looks **** and you're only able to read stuff when you're right in front of the textures.

Playing like that is definitely out of question. I still have hopes for a PC version down the road. Would really be a shame to let this game go to waste...
Can you stop posting in the console forum? It's not like you will ever actually have a positive discussion about a console game.

The controls are great in the game. They feel solid and respond perfectly. If you have problems with them then you just suck at using a controller.

Yes the graphics in comparison to a PC game might be low but over all the game uses decent textures (their are low textures used often though if you like pointing out flaws) and the lighting is some of the best in any game, as well as the atmosphere.

The game is fun, just doesn't deserve the hype it originally received. The gameplay seems to have been changed a lot since it went exclusive.

I'm enjoying it and it will have some DLC's, but it looks like when I'm done with it, it will be traded in for sure. I have no problems with the controls. It would have been nice to free roam, if they can do it with Fallout 3 on the 360, they should be able to do it here.

For some reason I think this could be a great title on the PS3 with Blu-ray storage and Uncharted 2 graphics...but it's a MS/360 game.

Not a bad game, but not GOTY either.

I'm not in it to start a flame war. I just point out the things I noticed while playing. Good and bad stuff.
But we know your opinion... you post almost the same thing always.

"The game looks crappy on the consoles, low res textures. Controls suck. I'll wait for the PC version."

I am completly fine with gamespads. As long as I don't feel like to be a twitch pro gamer.
Gamepads are quite good for relaxating couch gameplay. I even like fps with 360 controller.

Finally finished this. It was ok but I got tired of so much of this game fast. The crappy shooting, night people, endless amount of forest and trees (at least put some animals into the mix). Overall it is ok but for being so long in development I thought it would be better.

Alan Wake is not a shooter game. There's a lot of trees because it's where Bright Falls' at, especially if you ever live in Washington (game nailed it right). That's how it is. Clearly you're not a fan of Stephen King or Twin Peaks which game is inspired by.

I'm halfway in it already and so far it's pretty awesome. I'm loving it as it is and very tense at times. Going to try and finish it before I go sleep.

they probably spend half the time drinking, and released such a weak game.

So this is the big Alan Wake thread. I feel really sorry for anyone who was stupid enough to buy a new CPU when they were really talking about this game and pushing the C2D and now we might not ever see it on PC, not really like I want it on PC considering.

Its a very very good game. I love it. It have great atmopshere and graphics.

But it could damn use a PC version for higher aa and texture mods. Also I dont miss "open world" gameplay which they announced in 2004. The game is good as it is right now. Somehow feels oldschool like doom3 or Max Payne. I think its underrated a bit(just like Timeshift which always come to my mind when talking about anything underrated-I liked it way more than Crysis and passed it like 5times!).

Just finished Alan Wake. Wow, what a great game. first DLC is coming out on July 27th and free for anyone who owns Alan Wake. Normally it costs 800 points ($10).

The Signal
Releases July 27th. - 800 Microsoft Points

In this first downloadable content pack we find Wake tracing a threat unlike anything he's ever encountered before -- and yet one he's intimately familiar with. In order to make sense of it all, he must follow the Signal.
