Default VDPAU tearing in 195.36.15

I am experiencing tearing in VDPAU with the 195.36.15 drivers with compiz running even when the video is displayed fullscreen and unredirected. Unredirected fullscreen video used to display perfectly with no tearing in the previous driver.

Perhaps this has something to do with the disabling of the useevents extension? Card is a 8800GT.

davelaser, which "previous driver" was working for you? The UseEvents change was made very early in the 195.* series, so quite a while ago. Was your "previous driver" 190.*? Can you isolate the change in behaviour to a specific pair of drivers?

I think my previous driver was 190.53. I will do some testing with various drivers to try and find the change that caused this problem to start happening.

I should also note I get the occasional tear in compiz with these drivers as well, this never happened before.

Hmm I don't know where I can download the older drivers. Is there an ftp site with them listed somewhere?

The issues are not present in the 195.30 driver
