A single 470 vs SLI 285

Which is better? I want to sell my two 285's and get a 470, but I don't want to lost performance.

I eventually plan on getting another 470 and go SLI, but I seriously don't want to be handicapped by getting just one 470. You know what they say: "Once you go SLI, you'll never go back!"....

285's in SLI are faster than a single 470, so you are going to take a performance hit until you get a second 470.

yes a pretty severe one at that.

Now a 480 is a different story, be about the same performance maybe slightly less.
