Default nVidia's equivalent to Eyefinity

High. I'm currently running an Eyefinity setup using two 5870s in Crossfire. I've been having trouble with BFBC2 + Eyefinity. I've been contemplating going to 2 GTX480s, but I'm not too informed on whether that will work to reproduce Eyefinity?

Can nVidia do multi-monitor gaming like Eyefinity? If so, can someone explain the requirements and restrictions that may apply?

Thank you.

I don't think so yet, supposed to work with a driver update. Last I heard at least.

Once the 256 drivers are released (anybody's guess, says April on the website), you will be able to run three monitors on two GTX 200 or GTX 400 series cards in SLI and play a game on all 3 monitors. Two monitors will be plugged into one card and the third into the second card. So at least two cards in SLI is required for this to work.

NVIDIA's gimmick is that you can do three 3D monitors in this fashion and play in 3D Vision Surround.

Indeed it isn't. I had the chance to try out Nvidia 3D vision and it is nothing like your run of the mill blue n red 3d glasses....

Total immersion in the games you play....just wish i had a 120hz monitor.

I think that's exactly what 3D Vision is. I was using it as a term that differentiates NVIDIA's multimonitor support from the competition, like how a pro wrestler's gimmick is their personality and/or other distinguishing traits while performing. And chill out, I have 3D Vision and 3 Acer GD235HZ monitors sitting around waiting for the Release 256 drivers.

Folks that are interested in 3d vision may get a recommended list from nVidia below.

Well I've just purchased 3 monitors for Eyefinity, so I won't be buying 3 more to support 3D. But it's nice to see that there SHOULD be an option eventually to span games across all three monitors using nVidia cards.

Finding the cards right now is a little tough. Hopefully by the time they become more readily available either Eyefinity issues will be cleared up, or the nVidia driver updates to support 3 monitors will be available and I'll have saved enough money to purchase them.

Do you think an Enermax Revolution 85+ 1050W PSU is enough to support 2 GTX480s and my current setup (Core i7 920 @ 3.6GHZ, 12GB DDR3-1600)?

Good read. And my current PSU is capable of GTX 480 SLi. Thanks.

Wow, a 650W for single, a good 750W PSU will do 480 SLI, but you need 1200 for 3x. Interesting.

I am in the same boat as you. 3d vision and 3 gd235hz monitors. I am using two right now with SLI (the max you can use with sli) but can only game with one (my center monitor of course!).
