Default Two Crysis questions...

1. Does Crysis (The original) contains SecuROM? I installed GTA IV and uninstalled it and I see the SecuROM Registry keys, but I'm not sure if I should delete them.

2. I'm running on two eVGA 470's Sli, 6 GB Memory and 3.2 CPU. On the first level in Crysis I'm getting about 50-80 FPS on the first part, then when I get to the part of the beach I get 28-45 (Normally 32-42).

Shouldn't my FPS be higher? I'm running the graphics settings all on Very High with no AA.

Thank you.

I'm running on 1920 x 1200, I just did some Benchmarking but it didn't show the FPS...

I'm going to correct myself a little, I get about 35 FPS whenever I am looking at the beach, if I'm only in Woods, I don't seem to get lower than 50 FPS.

They do? I'm not afraid of it I was just looking around on Internet and I saw people saying SecuROM was garbage that made your computer insecure or some stuff.

That's where I got it from. Reviews of people saying Crysis Warhead has malignant version of SecuROM.

warhead is different story, in warhead you have 5 machine activation limit.

before you re-format the drive make sure you run the de-authorization tool and then uninstall game

So the reason people are saying such bad things about Warhead SecuROM is because of the activation limits?

Does SecuROM affects your computer in any way at all? I installed GTA IV and Uninstalled it after a while, and I remember getting a program pop up to revoke my key, so I did. But I keep reading how SecuROM is a malignant thing for your computer or some stuff...

SecuROM is one of the few copy protections I really trust. I worked with them and Rockstar several years ago to fix an issue I had with GTA SA. Both companies were fantastic, unlike Starforce who accused me of being a criminal instead of helping a paying customer.

****ers.

Anyway, the 5 machine activation limit is dumb. But again, it's only for Warhead. And I'd be surprised if you ever want to play that more than once.

Thank you.

I can answer this one. In the start of the first level of crysis everyone gets better framerates than later near the beaches. This is simply because it's night in the first part of the first level. Thus no sun, no shadows or something like that. So therefor when u get to the beach the sun rises and the fps dropps The way it works. I dis-suggest you from using Veryhigh settings @ all. I would rather tell you to go DX9 and add the veryhigh " on the cheap" commands in a config file (check tweakguides.com for the "VH-Cheap" settings and how to correctly initialize the config). This way u will gain maybe 20 or 30 fps lol but it will look all like Veryhigh but it will run alot better. Crysis dx10 @ all-Veryhigh is pretty bad balanced and also very demanding. A proper used config u can get it to look like Veryhigh (or even better) but in dx9.

Is there any downloadable file that I can just Copy/Paste into the config to do the "Cheap DX9 Tweak" automatically?
