unable to install nvidia drivers

Recently i downloaded Nvidia drivers for Linux and installed the drivers on my system. The installation was successful by when i run Chromium game, there is no response.

when i tried running gears program in linux i got the following error

GLUT: Fatal Error in gears: OpenGL GLX externsion not supported by display : : 0.0

everything else is working fine.

Hope somebuddy knows what the problem is.

look in /var/log/XFree86.0.log if you are indeed using NV or NVIDIA

type 'ldconfig' as root in a konsole

also verify you have

Code:

Load "glx"

in your Module section.

and, what makes you think he's in KDE?

he's smart enough to know what I mean, I'm not gonna type differently just for some guy.

btw: in my native language any console is written as konsole and german as well, so technically I'm not wrong.

thank you for helping me, its working now

but i have one more problem

bios displays 32 MB Video RAM
but
windows displays 16MB VRAM

do you know what the problem is ?

and

how can i get VRAM size in linux ?

BIOS is mostly right,

try looking in /proc somewhere

I didn't find it straight away
