195.36.24 for amd64
I am curious about when 195.36.24 for amd64 (x86_64) will be released or if there is an issue holding it back. Thank you.

It's been delayed by lack of time, mostly. The FreeBSD 7.x/8.x driver will replace the old one in 256.xx and built for i386/amd64 along with the Linux/Solaris versions, but the 195.36.xx BETA drivers are built manually from a separate branch. I'll try to find some time to build it this week.

BTW, I thought 195.36.24 was non-BETA. At least, the i386 driver claims to be the official release. Is the amd64 driver still BETA? I could not tell; runs great for me on 8.x.  |

Yes, all of the 195.36.xx drivers for FreeBSD >= 7.3, including 195.36.24, will be BETA builds. This is mainly because they're not built by our buildmeisters and have undergone only limited internal SWQA testing.
In any case, I built 195.36.24 for FreeBSD/amd64 yesterday. Now I just need to find some time to run a few sanity tests... |
