Kain, thats a mistake on Steam site
Crysis does not have activation, only Crisis Warhead does. Crysis Maxium Edition does have activation because its a combination of Crysis and Warhead, but in Maxium Edition also, only the Crysis Warhead has activation, while the original Crysis doesn't. here is a list of EA games that have activation. http://activate.ea.com/deauthorize/gamesList.html

I did not read this thread, so I do not know if this has already been said, but the vote should be Digital vs Retail.
I prefer Digital over retail, so I voted Steam. But really prefer D2D over Steam.

Steam definitely.
Sure sometimes you can save a little on buying retail, but in the long run, I'm always most happy with Steam. Easy access, automatic patching, steam community build-in, steam cloud etc., Steam may cost more but does provide a service for the price. Did I mention that I love Steam? ![]()

some for example don't have a client, some don't allow you to download after 6 months, some need special patches that sometimes never get released.

50 / 50 for me.
It is still often cheaper to import new release retail games than buy them on steam. Also many retail games have more user friendly DRM than steam, allowing for instance, the ability to play the game on LAN without purchasing multiple copies, for the occasional family match, or sell a game when you've finished it. |
