Default Galaxy Dual GTX 470

This was in the news feed but no one seemed to notice it. Galaxy has a prototype with two GTX 470 on a single PCB. http://www.geeks3d.com/20100601/gala...-the-same-pcb/

Sounds kind of neat but I guess it will need a pretty heavy duty cooler. Also uses two 8-pin power connectors.

I doubt if this will ever be released. I wouldn't mind being wrong though!

Actually I posted this a couple hours before you did

It kind of makes me wonder at this point though. It's looking like the GF104 would have to be downclocked significantly if they want to get it to be around a 150W part so they could potentially have a dual option that doesn't exceed the PCIe spec. Now I wonder if even two 8-pin PCIe power connectors will be enough for this beast if two GF104 can't even fit in the 300W envelope.

what worries me is that if amd/ati couldn't get their new 375 watt 5970's cards to be less than three slots for their cards for cooling reasons, what will the nvidia partners come up with other than liquid cooling. Because I would love to go quad sli again (I had two gtx 295's at one time) but I know I won't have the card space if they go with 3 slot cards.
