Glad you got it - I never thought of updating your AV.

Fwiw, malwarebytes and MSE are on all my families machines. Happy with them so far.

I've been running ESET smart security since win7 RC1 and the only slow downs I get are when it does the startup scan. Once all my startup programs are loaded, then its back to normal.

Generally, I keep real-time protection disabled - but, I do that with all anti-viruses.

I am running 4.2.40 x64 no problems. Win7

oh it definitely the real time protection that causes it.

I keep mine enabled, I am so paranoid now especially somehow my gmail account and paypal account got hacked within a week eachother...both different emails and password, so I was thinking I had a keylogger installed, but i ran every online virus program and spybot software, and it came up empty, could not figure how that happened.

It is actually the main reason I decided to upgrade to Win7, I figure to play safe I will reformat and now is a perfect time to go win 7

Default Re: Win 7 64 bit - performance question

I am having another issue maybe you guys can help.

My USB external WD passport drive is getting extremely slow transfer speeds. I am getting on average 30mb/sec

I checked properties of drive and changed it to better perfomance

I checked in the device Manager and I have USB enhanced, though I have so many other things under USB.

I already installed the chipset drivers for my mobo.

Any clue what is causing this?
