Thumbs up GTA IV PC - Episodes from Liberty City and new patch details.

Quote:
We’re proud to announce a new title update is coming to owners of the original GTA IV PC that includes all the enhancements found in Episodes from Liberty City. The title update will be available for download through Games for Windows – Live very soon, at which time I will update the forum. We will also be hosting a downloadable version on our support site. Thanks to all our fans for supporting us.

GTA IV Title Update 1.0.6.0 \ 1.0.5.1 \ 1.0.4.2 (Patch 6)

Rockstar Games Social Club

• Remove Rockstar Games Social Club application

• Separate RGSC application no longer required to launch game

• Social Club login now occurs during the launch process

Shadows

• A new, less memory-intensive, and better-looking scalable shadow solution has been implemented

• Enhanced Night Shadows added with user-selectable level of detail (replaces Shadow Density)

Performance

• Rendering optimizations have been made to improve performance, particularly when enabling shadows

• User-configurable graphics settings have been added for shadow control

• Improved memory management

Multiplayer

• Enhanced security to isolate users from cheaters and hackers

Episodic Content

• Provide in-game support to purchase "The Lost and Damned" and "The Ballad of Gay Tony" (Not available in Russian/Japanese Versions)

Bug Fixes

• Vehicle shadows re-enabled between 8pm and 6am

• Fix floating street textures

• Pedestrians in vehicles appear further out from the player to allow for long range sniping

• The Moon has been implemented with simulated lunar phases

• Fixed garbled text in Japanese Multiplayer menus

• "RESC 10" error fix for specific hardware configurations
All I can say is http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=445395

Update: The new patch has been released. If you have the Games for Windows Live version, it will download it. (tested and works fine here).

The patch actually uninstalls Rockstar Social Club. Here's the new start up window

1.1.2.0

Quote:
* fixed a bug causing tree leaves to look transparent
* fixed a bug that prevented uploading of rendered videos to Social Club when attaching music tracks from The Ballad of Gay Tony
* fixed for clip capture "OFF" slowdowns occurring when near water's edge
* fixed for slowdown occurring when getting in a boat during "Sexy Time" mission in The Ballad of Gay Tony
* exposed "detonate" in custom key mapping options menu for Lost and Damned so users can remap "down" arrow key
* EFLC now has it's own settings file called "SETTINGS_EFLC.CFG" to avoid possible conflicts with GTA IV installation

The performance updates are very nice. Nice to see a developer continue improving their product a few years after its release. I thought Valve was the only company that did that

I picked up GTA EFLC today, it unlocked this morning. I wish I could say it played wonderfully, but the truth is the in game benchmark is really choppy and I get about 47 FPS. The same settings in GTA IV, in the in game benchmark (which is different) gets me 67 fps.

The game play is bit choppier. Hoping ATI needs to tweak it a bit. Tried renaming files but then the game doesnt run.

Moon lunar phases wtf?

I honestly thought this was a joke patch list. They removed Rockstar Social Club, crazy talk.

It's 1200 points per episode if you buy it over GfWL.

Performance is much better within GTAIV for me. Now if only the episodes would unlock so I can finally purchase them.
