Default Nvidia driver on Kernel 2.6.29.6

i'm having trouble trying to install Nvidia driver 71.86.13. This is what happens:
Quote:
dlopen: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//nvidia_drv.so: undefined symbol: AllocateScreenPrivateIndex
(EE) Failed to load /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//nvidia_drv.so
(II) UnloadModule: "nvidia"
(EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (loader failed, 7)
(EE) No drivers available.

Fatal server error:
no screens found
I see this problem isn't something new, but I did'n found the answer.
Hope you can help.
