how many VHS tapes do you have now? because when i made the switch to DVD, i threw out couple boxes of tapes.

I also don't like streaming, so renting actual disc from netflix is ideal for me.
In fact I hate that feeling about future...

How I will be playing my current games when there will be no 360 and conventional pc in the future?
Will mp3 format or dvd or anything else be "working" when I will be old?

You will be playing your X360 like you are now... on your X360. Your MP3s and DVDs will work as long as you have hardware/software that supports it.

Just like it is now...

MP3 will work on anything if you have a codec for it. Same for DVD as long as you have a drive to read it.

I think he is more worried how he will pirate his games when there will be no physical media.

There will always be way Nekro, dont worry.

Its all just a reflection so nothing to really discuss about... but
I am worried that technology might change much and "old basement stuff" like dvd drives or xboxes(which will rrod to hell till then anyway) will be collector items which will not work becouse of other power sources, aging or something.

For Example. Try running some of old Vectrex games on an actuall working vectrex! Its very rare and its only like 30years(?).

Just imagine 90yo Nekro who wants to play first big game from Poland "Witcher" or "Painkiller" that started Poland uprising on path of world gaming dominaton!!!

No really. I guess I will not be able to replay for example Duke Nukem3D or any nowaday console game becouse of plenty of reasons. And thats not good, becouse I am nostalgic to games or hardware. We might not even have same display, power, electricity system as we have now.

eeeee... **** this. I guess its better not to give a **** anyway

btw. Nekro. You don't need to be unpleasant to me in every post You quote.

It takes 1 hr. 20 min. to download 50GB at 100 Mbit. Given that most people have a tenth of that or less, you're looking at 10 hrs. atm. Hopefully we will have speeds close to 100 Mbit within 5 years, although I seriously doubt it.
My internet provider already does 100mbit, true it is a bit pricey at $169 a month but it is there. They are planning to roll out fibre to the home in the next year or so.

On a different note, the 360 slim is significantly quieter even when the disc is going.

Ok. But 100Mbit will not be anywhere close to the average bandwidth in 5 years.

why would i want to stream movie in lower quality when i can rent blu-ray?
I use Comcast's OnDemand everyonce in a while. I have to admit the HD movies look really good. It isn't Blu Ray quality but for a quick rental when you don't want to go out to a store it is a nice service. Netflix's streaming is very poor as you said, which is why I no longer use Netflix. I usually rent Blu Ray movies from Safeway at $3.00 a movie.

I did pick up a a Xbox Slim after saying I wouldn't. I just got back from vacation, had a lot of left over money and was in a spending mood. It is a pretty nice little system now. It is quite a bit smaller and the power brick is a little bit smaller. The biggest thing that sold me on it is the DVD is completely quiet now. I HATED that loud DVD player. So yeah I got suckered into the Slim but I'm happy with it, well it is actually my son's. The PS3 Slim is all mine.
