Well its either somewhere on my entertainment unit or risk burning down my house by placing it on the carpet.

As for the comparison to the PS3, that is a load. Yes the PS3 was more expensive but it included everything short of HD Cables in the box. Yes Sony dropped the ball there but MS did the same thing with the Arcade system.

It clearly shows that Sony had a better package when your complaint was nothing more then the Price.

I don't think I was talking about packaging. But since you bought it up, yeah PS3 had better deal going on with Blu-ray and stuff but price tag was way too high at that time. In fact it was overkill. XBOX 360 was a better option at that time (for me at least) because it doesn't force you to buy everything at once like with PS3. I didn't really need WiFi until later on. HDD wasn't an important factor until recently especially with XBOX 360 be able to install games on HDD, and XBOX Live or PSN library growing with a lot of bigger games.

So my point was, both Sony and Microsoft shares the same problem. And Nintendo too. The reason why I'm happy with new 360 slim because they included WiFi in and fixed the design problem (I hope so). It's a good change (even if it should have happened long time ago) and hope to see more positive changes in the future. Is that a bad thing to be happy about that?

I was actually considering to buy this new version, even though I don't like the look, untill I saw that the power brick is still there. That's just stupid...

It makes sense for people who can't put a lot of money up front, but the point is that over time the "cheaper" Xbox ends up costing you a lot more money. By the time you add a recharge cable, a larger than 20GB HDD, a wifi adapter and most important 5+ years of xbox live at $50 a pop to your launch 360 you're waaaaaaay over the PS3 launch price.

I don't mind people saying it was easier to get in to Xbox, I mind them saying PS3 was too expensive. You got all those extras thrown in and a blu-ray player to boot.

PS3 also smells nicer out of the box.

IMHO, they made it look more like the phat PS3. Black, although the Elite was black, most Xboxes are white, shiny coating, Wi-Fi, touch controls, More USB ports, HDD standard, etc.

Ok, some of those are a stretch, but the PS3 on launch still offered more, for more money. It's had a lot of these features for years and you can swap out the HDD yourself.

The only thing the 360 has over the PS3 now is XBL. The PS3 exclusives are awesome. While I enjoy Alan Wake and Halo *.*, they are still no GoW3 or UC2.

I'd have just taken a revised cooling solution and a lower price tag honestly... internal storage and wifi should have been standard from the beginning IMO. I actually for a minute though that when they announced the elite that SURELY it'd get wifi and an internal drive.. nope.. just black with a higher price tag.

I think that the old white design looks better than this.

Looks good to me but the improvements are what should have been there with the elite years ago. Good to see them finally there regardless.

PS3 also has it's stupid things, like no HD cables in the box and a annoying as hell 1.5m controller recharge cable. That thing ****s me to tears at times... what were they expecting everyone to leave their PS3 on and charge the controller every time they stopped using it?

Here is a good Q for xbox owners. Can you plug a USB drive into the 360 and read files from it, and save games? I noticed they made a comment about memory cards, so I'm guessing you can't put your save games on a flash drive.
