Default Is there a way to see how many people are playing a certain game online ?

I have a conundrum. I am wanting to get both Blur and Split Second for the pc for hi res goodness over the 720p console versions. My fear is that the pc versions will not have a good online community and I am certain the 360 and ps3 versions will. Is there anyway to find out how many people are playing these games online ?

A lot of games with dedicated servers can be found at www.game-monitor.com but I'm not sure those games need dedicated servers as they may just be p2p. I would try to just search for split second server list and see what u find
