nforce2 smbus errors on boot Ubutnu Lucid x64

Has anyone else had this error while running Ubuntu x86_64?

On boot I get the following two errors:
nforce2_smbus 0000:00:03.2: error probing SMB1
nforce2_smbus 0000:00:03.2: error probing SMB2

I am currently unable to load nvidia drivers or use the nvidia settings app under Ubuntu Lucid 10.04. Sometimes I am forced to boot into low graphics mode as well.
