Hi there,
I've got Ubuntu 10.04 on a Dell Latitude D630 laptop. It's connected via a docking station to a 17" monitor. I currently have it set up in Twinview with the 17" monitor being the primary screen. No complaints there. However - when I DISCONNECT the computer from the docking station, it continues to act like it's still in Twinview. The settings do not change and the mouse can be easily lost offscreen. This is NOT the case with Windows XP. In XP, it automatically changes the display settings whenever a disconnect/reconnect occurs. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? |

How do You switch on additional (docked) display?
I use addidional LCD via HDMI and there is no auto switch for displays. I'm experiencing another problem with display disconnection - after disconnection, even if I'll set up one display mode via nvidia-settings panel, I have boundaries for mouse but my desktop is in something like virtual resolution (greater than my LVDS) and it's not scrolling when I'm at the edge with mouse pointer so I have to reload X.org. |

The connection is via HDMI, although I don't see how that would make much of a difference over VGA.
You're right - there is no auto switch: I'm asking if there's a way to implement that. |
