Steam servers are probably loaded though
Yeah I just looked at my download of TFU. Say a tad under 30gb DOWNLOADED, so I may have to retract my claim. It does download the whole freaking 25-30gb!

I'm getting the same speed. Steam must be getting hammered with this sale.

When I read TFU was 29GB I thought it was a mistake, but yeah it took forever to download and it really does eat up 25GB of space. I maxed out at 1.5MB/s on a usual 3.5-4.0MB/s connection from steam. It's hard to believe that it uses that much data. I played to the end of the first Jedi and it plays fine on my rig, though it did slow down in a spot or two and the loading screen still shows up when going to the force powers screen though much faster than the PS3 version did. I was hoping the going into the upgrade pages would have been eliminated the loading screen on the PC version but I guess it really is just a direct port with zero enhancements or optimizations.

It might be large, but those high-res videos are awesome...

And TB HDDs are like $80 now, so who gives a crap.

It's not an issue of the size of the game on your hard drive, it's the time and bandwidth it takes to download all 25GB. Especially given the fact that the Steam servers are overloaded atm.

It will take over 2 days at 125KB/s to download the 25GB, and that seems to be the speeds people are getting with the overloaded servers.

You can always change servers, it helps a lot.

SW TFU probably still uses Bink for movies, that's one reason why it's much bigger, than it needs to be.

Must be nice. I downloaded a few GB at around 125KB/s the other day, and I have a 94 Mbit connection.

But at 1MB/s, it still takes around 7 hours to download 25GB heh.

New deals don't look that good

$6.70 for Half Life is too much. I got that game for $1 a few years ago heh.

Ok so I guess they hadn't quite finished updating the price yet. HL's on sale for $2.
