Yea the performance is kinda dodgy in TF2 with my gtx480. I thought maybe I was just seeing things but seeing someone else notice this is interesting.

Probably an early 400 series driver issue... nVidia will iron it out.

So I did some more testing, and I guess it is crappy drivers. I went back to the 197.75 drivers and TF2 runs A LOT more smoothly. I don't know what they did to the later drivers that screwed with TF2 but I hope they fix it.

I get 300fps in tf2 maxed settings with my 480, so its not the drivers or the gpu. Do you have multicore enabled?

Give it 6-8 months of driver dev to get it fixed...

IDK what to say, a while back TF2 was unplayable for me. Game would hitch like crazy and it was a bug they introduced with an update, game was trying to write to a file way to often.

It took valve months to fix it. So it may not be an issue with nivida, like I said game runs great for me now.

Hmm... I guess it isn't a driver issue. I reinstalled the latest ones again and it seems be smooth, though some of my nvidia control settings are different, I guess I need to do some more investigation.
