Google Earth crashes on startup

on a 4-processor AMD-64 system running Fedora-13 with all upgrades installed. A crash log is attached. This started when I changed from Fedora-11 to Fedora-13, also changing from the building the driver from Nvidia's driver package to kmod-nvidia from RPM Fusion, which claims to do the same thing automatically. The driver runs everything else without problems, including glx-gears at about 7500 FPS.

The problem is well-known and has been reported on these Google Earth forums:

At present RPM-Fusion is a release behind, using 195.36.31, which is what I've been using. I expect an upgrade soon.

It's not distro specific afaik.

Works fine in openSUSE.

Could be something that changed in the kernel in newer distros?

Go back to your Windows threads, troll.

OP, make sure you are using all *Google* libaries and not the Qt libs from Fedora (or whatever distro you are using). Also make sure that you set the SELinux context to allow text relocation as Google didn't build their libraries safely. Example: chcon -t textrel_shlib_t /path/to/google-earth/librender.so

Fedora 13 x86_64 - latest NVIDIA binary driver - Google Earth working perfectly.
