Default got the mb beast afffordably

Remember that gigabyte ga-x58a-ud9 that I posted in here awhile ago? Well, I wasn't going to go near the $700 before tax for it if I was to get it. For those that don't know, it's gigabytes xl-atx 7 pci-e 16x slot mb that competes with the evga 4 way sli and asus p6t7(what I currently own). Well, I was browsing online retailer shopping engines like pricegrabber and some canadian ones like pricebat and shopbot. I was able to find this mb for $512 before tax cdn. ($600 cdn with shipping and tax, $200 savings over the newegg price incl tax) No joke! I couldn't resist the price and it was in stock at the store (they only had one though since it went out of stock as soon as I bought it) so I jumped on it. I am looking for the future proofing of onboard usb 3.0 vs. my u3s6 card to get back a pci-e slot. What I want to save that pci-e slot for is a highpoint tech native sata 3 raid controller either for the crucial c300 ssd's or something faster when sata 3 is more forefront. I am also thinking of selling my killer 2100 unless I can find out how to have stay enabled after going into sleep mode. Yes, it disables the net card after coming out of sleep mode in win 7. sucks because it defeats the purpose of sleep mode.

PS. This is one time where I say newegg well overpriced this motherboard.

Crazy board. That's a lot of PCIe bandwidth goodness.

the other reason why it was last is that it's xl-atx whereas the r3e is atx. Not everyone can afford xl-atx and anandtech knows it. If I was under a tighter budget, it would be the r3e. btw, just checked tracking, it's gonna be here today at around 1pm. I know the courier and that's when they get around to my neighbourhood. The courier is canada based purolator.

Hey. I recommend popping over to our support page over at:

http://www.bigfootnetworks.com/support

and getting in touch with the support staff there. That definitely shouldn't be happening with your card and they should be able to help you out with that issue, or in the worst case scenario, it will help us develop a fix.

Thanks, but sorry to hear you're having a problem with your 2100. :-\

just put the system together. The only thing that peeves me with gb mb's is that you have to hit delete a 100 times to get the bios up or at least so it doesn't fully post to get to bios. Another problem I am having now is that the windows install is incredibly slow. I think the cause is my sound card is not fully in the pci-e slot. Why I suspect this is my friend ran into the same thing with his killer 2100 where it slowed down desktop usage and apps until he removed the card. Mind you, with my pc case, I have to push on the back just to get the vid cards to screw into the brackets. As for my friend and the killer 2100, it wasn't the card itself either. It was the fact that it would rock in and out of the slot when you tried screwing in the card into the bracket just like what is happening with my sound card.

well, my problem with slow win 7 installing was not card, memory or drive related. Something to do with the mb itself. Anyhow, it only slows down on the language/keyboard select screen and the unpacking of windows files screen. everything else in windows install including windows boot is very fast. So, a little hiccup, no biggie. The only thing (and I need gigabyte user's feedback here) is when I flash the bios and leave my settings as they are instead of going to default, my system tries to restart but goes into a loop unless I clear the cmos and put the system back to default. Just wondering if this is a common gigabyte occurance because I have been away from gigabyte since the socket 478 days.
