Its about choice. Let those of us with SLI and Crossfire solutions with plenty of power to spare enable AA. All that B.S. about "performance concerns" is just beating around the bush for ATI. Its not like they have to force you to run AA. I don't think that those running 5870/5970 Crossfire setups are going to care about a 50% FPS reduction when AA is on when they already run the game at like 200+ FPS with AA off. And those pro gamers who care about every last frame they can wring out of their machine will have AA disabled anyways.

Then again, its just as much as Blizzards ****up here. A new AAA PC exclusive game, and AA is not supported? I have the same issue with the lack of support for Eyefinity/Surround, but that's another story.

For those who are having issue with the DVD, its an issue with how blizzard masters their discs. The same thing happened to a lot of people with the most recent WoW expansion. About the only thing you can do is try a different dvd drive(if you have more than one) which is what I had to do to get the last WoW expansion to install, or download the installer from the web.


I can't wait to be able to play this game in its proper glory when I get my new tower finished. my AMD 4800 X2 with 8400 GTS doesn't quite cut it at 1080p

I didn't really expect it to be this massive at launch. Even in AUS they had massive queues/midnight launch events. Normally u see this for WoW...not for a RTS...

Yea I was expecting maybe 20 people at my midnight release. There was somewhere over 250 people there.

I like to play RTS demos because that is how long they hold my attention. They are fun but only for 15 minutes or so.

I was actually surprised that there were any left at my local Wal-Mart. Even last night @ 7pm, there were still 4 or 5 copies left. I expected this to be a total blow-out all over the world. Apparently, less well-off places around America didn't sell out.

I bet every large city in America sold out, though. I wonder how successful the launch actually was....

There was a big launch here too. I see in the video mentioning Orange County, Ca. which is where I live. The Fry's Electronics here had a midnight launch. They had a stage set up hosted by Blizzard and there was a huge crowd waiting to get their hands on SC II.

Starcraft 2 sold over 1.8Million copies on Day 1 (Excluding Korea)

Early data is in and it looks like StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty has become the fastest-selling game of 2010 to date and one of the fastest-selling PC games of all time. VGChartz estimates that around 1.8 million units of the game were sold on day 1 across the Americas and Europe including both physical retail sales and Battle.net download sales. This figure does not include players in Korea where it is virtually impossible to accurately estimate how many people will have purchased the game due to the way in which it is sold - mainly via time cards and also with Blizzard announcing that World of Warcraft users with an active account in Korea would be able to play the game free of charge. The number of players in Korea playing the game on day 1 could be as high at 3-4 million but only Blizzard will know for sure.

Thanks IW for making games cost more, I blame them for the 60 dollar price tag, but you never know. SC2 seems to have a LARGE potential for modding, which is always good.
