I never played SC2 either. I learned the units/buildings/etc via multiplayer/VODS done by Husky/HD and Day9.

Also the ingame help system shows the tech tree.

Zerg works similar to War3, u upgrade ure main hatchery to get to next tier.

protoss/terran is different, and require other buildings to tech up.

I'm getting a little better with scouting and countering, moving up the bronze ladder! I'm starting to see that most bronze protoss players try to do a void ray rush so my vikings and turrents take care of them pretty quickly.

I don't know. I think by far the nastiest terran opening (at least against zerg) is mech/marines/medvac. Siege Tanks to rock your zerglings, and marines to AA against your mutalisks is pretty nasty. It's very hard to get banelings into the marines with siege tanks guarding the perimeter. The only real solution is broodlors, and if the terran lets the game go that late he's an idiot.

Void ray rush is not hard to counter if you know it's coming. Especially for terran. Leave about 10 marines at your base and they'll take care of any early void ray rush. And if you knock out a few void rays you know he's at a big disadvantage early on.

I need friends! Post some account names, so I can add you guys. I am scared to try MP, especially after almost being destroyed by the opposing team. It was a 3v3. If it weren't for my two teammates, I would've been done. I really want to get good at this game so playing with you guys and learning the ropes would help a lot.

Played the game last night and I am really enjoying it. I usually don't like RTS games but this one is well done. It isn't high action. It is laid back point and click fun. I like the fact that not every mission is the same. There is a variety of objectives in each mission.
