X server settings (version 11.0 / 1.7.6) twinview + screen resolution issues

Hi, this is my first time using X server settings so I don't know much about it.

I have 2 problems, the first is that I can set twin view and get 2 displays working but when I restart the computer it goes back to single display, how do I stop that from happen so I permanently have twinview

second problem, how can I set a custom resolution, I need to run 1800x1050 on my tv monitor but there isn't an option to do so

any suggest on how to fix these 2 problems will be greatly appreciated

run at X start in your DE/WM:

nvidia-settings -l

I'm not sure if I fully understood what you wanted me to do, but if you meant type that nvidia-settings -l into console then this is my result (I get the same result if i put sudo infront of nvidia-settings -l)

I did find out something, the nvidia x server settings program wasn't saving to the file so i had to go through the normal way but instead of pressing i just click preview and take the code and put in the file myself, now this fixes my starting in twinview problem, but it doesn't like me using 1800x1050 and turns off my 2nd monitor (the one i want to use 1800x1050 on) so even though its in twin view there is nothing displaying on the 2nd monitor
